Absolutely love it! Such a relaxed, natural yet nontraditional pose. It's cool to see dinosaurs portrayed as the center of attention or in dynamic poses, don't get me wrong, but it's also nice to see them portrayed engaging in down time, just being one with the habitat.
And here it is. The best drawing of my favorite dinosaur of all time.
I've been poking around deviantart looking at all the different drawings, most are highly stylized and include a tail that looks like a loose rubber band, or overly sharp claws, and those are cool and all, but this actually looks like a real animal.
That, and the drawing itself has that kickass charcoal style, which really pays off by making the depths of the forest appear "blurry."
Now, where is that "immediately become best friends" button?
Aww, I really like this! Actually my pet bird laid down like this yesterday and fell asleep on my laptop while I was working, which was cool, but it apparently meant that I was not allowed to use the 1 key or I'd get pecked.
I do love seeing a behavioral aspect to paleoart...more than just the animal walking through the frame. It does a wonderful job of bringing the animal to life! It would be cool to see a feathered (non-avian) dinosaur roosting. I wonder if they put their heads under their forelimbs like modern birds...
